BC has fallen…

Publié dans politics le July 3rd, 2008
METRO VANCOUVER - Gas shot to $1.52 a litre at several gas stations in Metro Vancouver Tuesday, the first day of B.C.’s new carbon tax.

According to information supplied by motorists at www.gasbuddy.com, most gas stations in Metro were selling regular unleaded gas for $1.52 a litre Tuesday.

That’s a full dime more than the $1.42 per litre quoted at several stations the day before and several times the 2.34-cent carbon tax levied by the B.C. government starting Tuesday.

What is it with the West Coast?  From California to BC, the leftists have taken over.  I don’t get it.  Whether it’s “peace” activists, enviromnentallists or leftist politics, the West Coast seems to have excellent representation at every level of government, both north and south of the boarder.

Now is Al Gore making money from all this?  I doubt it.  But the BC provincial government is.

To help people adjust to the cost of the new tax, British Columbians began receiving one-time $100 cheques last week.

People, come on!  Think about this!!!  If they are willing to cough up 100$ for everyone, don’t you think money is coming in the back door?  They’re OBVIOUSLY making money off of this, otherwise they’d NEVER give out money.  You calculate the cost vs the benefit, and if you pay out 100$ to everyone, you can count on the fact that they still have a benefit.

A recent Angus Reid Strategies poll found that 47 per cent of those surveyed said they were willing to pay higher taxes on fossil fuels if they also got an income tax cut, compared to 49 per cent who opposed the idea.

But they’re not.  They’re getting a one-time-100$-deal and that’s it.  You’ll be paying that crap for the rest of your natural life.  Hey, wouldn’t that benefit the provincial government?  I think so…

However, 82 per cent of those polled said they preferred an NDP proposal to “target major industrial producers” instead of imposing a tax at the retail level.

…who make a profit, like any other enterprise which hires employees and pays taxes already.  Should we prevent coffee outlets from making a profit?  Should we prevent lumber yards from making a profit?  Should we prevent hotel managers from turning a profit?

Why should we rob “major industrial producers” (ie”  Oil Companies) from their profits?  They invest money, they should be getting returns on their investments.

Incidently, don’t we all use oil products?  Doesn’t the produce that appears like magic in our grocery stores get shipped her by truck?  Has no one realised that these taxes on gas will affect the price of anything that gets trucked to our doorstep?

The more you tax oil producers, the more you’re gonna pay for…everything else.  We live on the road.  We eat on the road.  Some day, we’re gonna sleep there too.

A MONSTER goes home…

“BAD” news from Israel. At least, I think so.

 Samir Kuntar

Beirut/Tel Aviv - United Nations hostage negotiator Gerhard Konrad has handed over a message to Israel from Hezbollah indicating that missing Israel Air Force navigator Ron Arad is dead, a Lebanese security source said Monday. (…)

For their part, Israel will give Hezbollah a report on the fate of four Iranian diplomats kidnapped and killed during the Lebanon war in the 1980s.

Israel has previously said it does not know what happened to the diplomats, who were arrested at a Christian Phalange party roadblock in north Lebanon in 1982 and are believed to have been subsequently been executed. (…)

As part of the controversial deal, Israel is to release Lebanese prisoner Samir Kuntar, thus far considered the main bargaining chip for information on Arad. (…)

In return, Hezbollah is to free Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser, two Israeli reserve soldiers whose capture by Hezbollah in a July 12, 2006, cross-border raid sparked the 33-day war.

Olmert told his cabinet Monday that the two soldiers were dead.

Seeing this as a possibility doesn’t make it any better.

I offer my sympathies to the families of all those concerned.

I’d like to point out that the Cruisading Zionazi Occupiers have the hability to keep people in jail for 28 years. Isn’t that something? Keeping people ALIVE for twenty eight years?

Here’s a comment from TZOMET which seems to reflect my thoughts exactly…

Take a look at this article today in Jpost. It’s starting already. In addtion, all these LIVE prisoners Hezbollah gets in return will be paraded around Beirut and ‘victory’ will be declared and this WILL be believed by everyone watching. Israel caved in to all of Hezbollah’s demands. No winners? My ass, Lapid.

Quote from that JPOST article…

Gaza strongman Mahmoud Zahar, speaking to the independent Al-Quds radio station, said Hamas would take advantage of this decision “to release people Israel accused of having blood on their hands like Samir Kuntar. We have to take advantage of this to release our prisoners.”

Incredible. A monster goes home to make more monsters…

This is one of those times where Meir Kahane comes to mind. I miss him.

Second Amendment confirmed!

Publié dans politics le June 27th, 2008
On Thursday, the Supreme Court held down an important ruling confirming that the Second Amendment means what it seems to mean: There exists an individual right to own guns. It can be limited in reasonable ways, just as the First Amendment to free speech can be limited. But it cannot be annihilated
altogether.

(…)

Gun control had always been based on a theory about how best to fight crime — and now that that theory has been exposed as false, and a new and more accurate theory has been put in its place.
Improving public safety made this new gain for civil liberty possible. Unfortunately, this new liberty is also shaping up to be a clear gain for Democrats: Barack Obama cannot now take away your guns even if he wanted to. On this once so divisive issue, the Supreme Court has helped to make Obama’s Democrats … bulletproof.

Nah-ah.  He’s still a victim of white oppression.  Poor fellah.

More than a carbon-tax…

Not only are Liberals trying to tax everything that pollutes, we now have American Mayors asking to boycott Alberta sand-oil because it’s “dirty” and helping Global Warming.

Mayors of Alberta cities thriving on the energy industry shot back at their U.S. counterparts Tuesday, one day after the Americans took steps to limit fuel from the “dirty tarsands” near Fort McMurray.

“I don’t believe they had all of the facts,” said Calgary Mayor Dave Bronconnier.

Fort McMurray Mayor Melissa Blake said the oilsands “inadvertently have become an easy target.”

(…)

“America will need Alberta’s oil, there is no question about it,” Bronconnier told reporters Tuesday at City Hall. “When you look at the future growth and the requirements for oil around the globe, the oilsands production will be there to play a critical role.

“Many people in America may not realize that and, certainly, a number of U.S. mayors may not realize that.”

Finance Minister Iris Evans said 13 per cent of the United States’ crude oil imports come from Alberta.

The superpower’s dependence on the province’s natural gas is slightly higher, making up 17 per cent of its natural gas imports, Evans added.

She said she believes the anti-oilsands position adopted by U.S. mayors is flawed and wishes she could remind them one on one how reliant the United States is on Alberta’s oil.

Europeen Union bullies it’s way to success…

Publié dans politics le June 14th, 2008
“The only point in going ahead and ratifying it would be to try to bully the Irish into voting a second time.

“I don’t think the Irish should have to vote twice, when the people of Britain haven’t been able to vote once.”

The Europeen Union may or may not be voted on, but it’s leaders aren’t elected.  I don’t care for “shadow governments”.  Decision makers who answer to noone scare me.

The Conservatives have called on the government to allow the British people to vote on the EU Treaty after it was rejected by Irish voters.

It comes after the government said it would press ahead with its ratification of the Lisbon Treaty despite the Irish voting “no” in a referendum.

Shadow foreign secretary William Hague said the poll had “blown a big hole” in the government’s European strategy.

Congratulations to the Irish who came out with a loud and clear voice.

But you may have to show up again and again.  Be ready for that, the EU doesn’t give up easily.

Let us consider these two…

  • Senate commitee of unknown individuals

…or…

  • Peter McKay, representative of the Canadian Prime Minister who was elected into power

Gosh, I’m so tempted to believe people whom I don’t know, don’t recognise and for whom I haven’t voted for. Although I’m sure they’re good people…

OTTAWA (AFP) — Canadian diplomats and troops should try talking to the Taliban to stem their insurgency in Afghanistan, a Canadian senate committee said Wednesday in a report.

Otherwise, the NATO-led battle for Afghanistan could last “a very long time if there is no attempt to resolve the issue through diplomacy,” the committee warned.

In May, Defense Minister Peter MacKay said Ottawa would never negotiate with the militant Taliban in Afghanistan, where Canada has 2,500 troops posted in the volatile southern province of Kandahar as part of the International Security Assistance Force.

“We are not talking to the Taliban. We are not having direct discussions with terrorists. We won’t, will not, that will not change,” MacKay said.

The senate panel concluded the ultimatum is flawed.

“Drawing lines in the sand is one of those child-rearing mechanisms that doesn’t always work in the adult world of conflict resolution,” the report said.

“‘Go to your room until you’re ready to behave like an adult.’ That sometimes works with kids,” it noted.

“It gets trickier with resistance movements, who inevitably believe they are going to win in the long run and play by their own rules.”

The committee urged the Canadian military to start talking to “all locals, including Taliban, finding out about their needs and using this to our advantage.”

“Every effort needs to be made to win over moderate Taliban supporters who are looking for evidence that there are better options than continued insurgency.”

Meh. No. Taliban Jack mentioned that before. So… NO.

Also, diplomacy during an armed conflict goes without saying.  Of course diplomacy will play a big role.

There’s already been much talk with the Northern Alliance and Pakistan.  We’ve also tried to reach France and Germany…

This one just lost the nomination.  She’s not happy.  She thought she was going to win.

But instead, THIS is the guy who will be the representative for the Democrats in the next elections.  THIS guy will bring CHANGE. (video mentioned on LGF)

God help us all.

Car + gun deal in Missouri

Publié dans politics le May 31st, 2008

“It’s a nice little handgun that fits in your pocket,” he said.

Muller said the promotion was inspired by Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, who is vying with Hillary Clinton to be the Democratic nominee for the presidential election in November.

“We did it because of Barack Obama. He said all those people in the Midwest, you’ve got to have compassion for them because they’re clinging to their guns and their Bibles. I found that quite offensive.”

Any car buyer gets a 250$ coupon. You either get a 250$ coupon for gas, or you can chose the 250$ coupon for a gun shop.

His sales are up. And why not? These guns will come from a gun shop, will be legal and registered. Why not?

“We all go to church on Sunday and we all carry guns,” said Muller. “I’ve got a gun in my pocket right now. I have a rifle in my truck. We’ve got to shoot the coyotes out here, they’re attacking our cows, our chickens. We’re not clinging to nothing. We’re just damn glad to live in a free country where you can have a gun if you want. This is the way it ought to be.”

Yeah. It ought to be.

Maxime Bernier’s decoration…

Publié dans politics le May 27th, 2008

Every time we noticed Bernier’s mistakes, she wasn’t around? What other SNAFU’s did we miss BECAUSE she was around, huh?

Oh, and I just noticed that we can see Maxime right there in the bottom photo. Bonus. I totally missed that.
