Back to work…

Publié dans commentary le July 3rd, 2008

So I’m back to work after two weeks of vacation. And this blog was offline all day yesterday. Everything to keep me happy, right?

Here’s something that came to my mind yesterday as I “picked up the slack”…

The only thing worse than having a shit job is taking a two week vacation…then coming back to the shit job.

-red collar

That being said, I have a job, I pay rent, I pay bills. I blame myself for my negative cashflow, not the evil society I live in. I could be working better or harder, but I do work. It’s something.

Perhaps I shouldn’t say “shit job”. Doesn’t sound very pc. I was watching George Carlin on youtube, his speech about soft language. Yeah, I’m going to refer to my job from now on as my “temporary situation”. Yeah, maybe it’ll take the suckitude out of the job, make it feel and smell a little bit better…

Now I didn’t leave Montreal during my two weeks off. I do plan to visit Quebec city in July, maybe catch some fish with my dad. Incidently, Paul McCartney will also be in Quebec City for a FREE CONCERT on July 20th…

“Hello everybody in Canada. Hi, how are you doing? Paul McCartney here, and I would like to announce that I am doing a gig — a big gig — in Quebec City on the 20th of July…. We’re coming to Quebec for the first time. We’re going to have a great time! And I would love to see you there.”

Hmmm… Perhaps not. With all his vegan boycots and seal hunt bashing, I’m tempted to boycot him.

We’ll see. Quite an event nonetheless. Quite a party to celebrate Quebec City’s 400th anniversary.

Saudi Cartoon…

Maybe we should riot…or something. I dunno, I’ve never burned down a building over a cartoon controversy before, I’m not too sure how to approach this.

Found this here.

There is some truth is this, which makes it a very good propaganda tool. Israel does have nukes.

Who will Israel nuke? Good question. Lebanon Read the rest of this entry »

Playing RISK on Facebook…

Publié dans commentary le June 19th, 2008

This is what I think of playing ATTACK (facebook’s electronic version of RISK). It sucks.

Now, like any other place I visit on the internet, I meet good people, honest folks and friends I’m glad to see online.

But Facebook sees no shortage of retards.

The typical game of RISK starts with players wanting Australia most of all (good defense, fair revenu).

But when the placement of armies starts, some players become disruptive. Some put their armies in Australia although someone else has already put armies there -a clear sign of disrespect. Some will place all their troops just outside of Australia and lash out against whoever is there, costing heavy casualties to both. Some, and this happens at EVERY SINGLE GAME, will take a seat on the board and for unknown reasons, they leave the game to be replace by a Botto (automated player called BOTTO). I’ve seen many games with five players including THREE BOTTOS, leaving only two real players…until another chaotic player takes over a Botto and destroys you where you didn’t expect it.

I won’t even talk about the grown up children who take anything as an offense and attack you mercilessly even if it costs them the game.  Some people have no sense of humor.  It’s both sad and pathetic.

Chaos, anarchy and destruction seems to be on some people’s minds. They all seem to congregate to ATTACK on Facebook.

The game had some technical problems last week that seem to have been resolved. But those days where you couldn’t take over a Botto (or, unfortunately return to a game you started) are gone.

We have to deal with the “Botto-jumpers” at every single game. There’s no way around it. It’s part of that game now.

To all those of you who, like me, are addicted to Facebook games, I hear your pain and I share your pain.

To the rest, I say STFD, you friggin a55! (most cursing on that game gets censored).

So, I give this game a 5.5/10. Technical problems are solved, no games have frozen today which is 180 degree turnaround. But the hostility, the harsh language and the abusive language is rampant. The sheer stupidity of players who have no other plan but to create chaos and destroy armies randomly is a big problem.

A problem that may never be solved on a user-friendly social site.

 Once again:  LANGUAGE WARNING. rofl

No to the common purpose…

(…)   The reality is that Brussels has no cure for the ills that pain Europe. The EU should be fighting intra-European protectionism — a battle that would make the continent more responsive to the challenges of globalization. Instead, Brussels frequently succumbs to what seems like a case of regulatory diarrhea, making European firms less, rather than more, competitive. Its singularly destructive Common Agricultural Policy keeps food prices high and genetically modified foods at bay — all while the people of Europe grumble about high taxes and expensive supermarket trips. For much of the past decade, Europe’s growth was low, incomes stagnated and unemployment remained relatively high — not a lot for the EU to brag about. (…)

Siegfried Sassoon

Publié dans commentary le June 11th, 2008

A faithful reader mentioned to me that perhaps I mistook another piece of garbage deserter for Corey Glass in a previous post.

Please accept my fondest apologies.  The piece of crap in question could have been…

…either Jeremy Hinzman (l), Kyle Snyder (r) or a number of other refuse of society.  I can`t tell.

I can tell a black man from another black man, but deserters all look the same to me.

Now to show you that I’m not a totally cold and heartless bastard, I’ll let you read this.

Who grinned at life in empty joy,
Slept soundly through the lonesome dark,
And whistled early with the lark.

In winter trenches, cowed and glum,
With crumps and lice and lack of rum,
He put a bullet through his brain.
No one spoke of him again.

You smug-faced crowds with kindling eye
Who cheer when soldier lads march by,
Sneak home and pray you’ll never know
The hell where youth and laughter go.

Siegfried Sassoon, 1918

Yes, war is hell.  It’s hell for many, many reasons.  No person in his right mind would go through all that.  Sassoon was a decorated veteran, knew what was involved and then refused to go back.  He went, he saw, he chose to refuse.  I’m cool with that.

He did not run away.  He stood up, said “NO” and accepted the consequences.

And yet thousands say “YES”.  Thousands KNOWINGLY do.

The reason:  Self-sacrifice.

This is a hard concept to grasp, perhaps, because of the kind of society we live in.  But in the end, there is a cause greater than ourselves in this world.  Perhaps we are nothing but one cog in this big machine of life.

Some crazy kids out there decide that there is something to fight for in this world.  Some think it’s worth defending.
Perhaps it’s right vs wrong, good vs evil.  I don’t know, I never get the same answer twice.

You can ask a vetaran one of these days.  Find out for yourself.

White pride and black pride, same problem.  Both are irrelevant.

Yes, black men can be racist.  It’s a truism.

Police reporting for “hate crimes”…

Publié dans commentary le June 10th, 2008

I’m reading a report from Calgary that mentions that, perhaps, Calgary police tally their crimes differently. This might explain why their numbers seem to indicate three times as many hate crimes as we have around the country.

The report noted there were no hate crimes at all in cities such as Saguenay, Que., St. Catharines-Niagara, Ont. and Saskatoon.

I’ve never been to St.Catharines or Saskatoon, but I’m gonna take a wild guess and say that they’re “diversity impaired”?

“There is nothing wrong with Mr. Steyn expressing his view as long as he does not cross the line with respect to Section 7-1 of the British Columbia Act.”

Section 7-1 deals with discriminatory publication. It stipulates that a person must not publish or cause to be published anything that discriminates against a person or group, or exposes them to hatred or contempt.

Remember: The defendants pay their lawyers. The “bereaved muslims” do not.

And just check out this link and see how “bereaved” these individuals really are.

“Because of bin Laden?” “Yes,” said the doctor.

Mr. Porter pressed further, suggesting to the witness that Muslim terrorists had much to do with rising anxiety in the West, that Osama bin Laden might attack again, that the witness and other Muslims might have something to fear, that North Americans “have the right to say ‘my God, what might happen next?’ “

Dr. Habib agreed.

“Aren’t you worried that there will be another attack?”

“Yes,” said Dr. Habib. “I’m worried.”

And that, argued Mr. Porter, is precisely the point, and the reason this hearing makes little sense. People agree that Muslim extremists are “the most central issue of our existence in North America today. How we deal with the bin Ladens is a huge issue, and so that writers must write about it …Those are my questions.”

The hearing is expected to finish today, after closing arguments.

That’s the problem with logic. You either side with bin Laden and you’re a true victim of islamophobia, or you denounce bin Laden and you’re with all other Canadians, fearful of another terrorist attack. This obviously leads YOU to understand that Canadians are concerned and want to discuss the terrorist threats we see around the world, but more especially the terrorist cells right here in Canada that have cropped up.

We want to talk about that.

Otherwise, you’ll shoot down (no pun intended) anything that’s not pro-islam, even against the greater good of the canadian population.

You don’t need a permit to be free.

It’s an inalienable right.

Freedom of the press is part of that.
