Car + gun deal in Missouri

Publié dans politics le May 31st, 2008

“It’s a nice little handgun that fits in your pocket,” he said.

Muller said the promotion was inspired by Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, who is vying with Hillary Clinton to be the Democratic nominee for the presidential election in November.

“We did it because of Barack Obama. He said all those people in the Midwest, you’ve got to have compassion for them because they’re clinging to their guns and their Bibles. I found that quite offensive.”

Any car buyer gets a 250$ coupon. You either get a 250$ coupon for gas, or you can chose the 250$ coupon for a gun shop.

His sales are up. And why not? These guns will come from a gun shop, will be legal and registered. Why not?

“We all go to church on Sunday and we all carry guns,” said Muller. “I’ve got a gun in my pocket right now. I have a rifle in my truck. We’ve got to shoot the coyotes out here, they’re attacking our cows, our chickens. We’re not clinging to nothing. We’re just damn glad to live in a free country where you can have a gun if you want. This is the way it ought to be.”

Yeah. It ought to be.

Corey Glass, an old picture…

Publié dans law and order le May 31st, 2008

21 seconds into this video I put on Youtube, you can see Corey Glass.  I heard his story a while back.  I wanted him out of Canada back then.  Still do today.

I know who he is, I know what he did and then refused to do.  I also know what he’s been feeding the mass medias.

Lebanon is back to “normal”…

Publié dans Terrorism/armed conflicts le May 31st, 2008
Beirut - An explosion shook the area near an army post Saturday in north Lebanon, killing one soldier, as the army managed to foil a second attack in southern Lebanon, Lebanese security sources said.

But here’s the funny quote of the day:

The soldier’s death comes as Lebanon is recovering from sectarian clashes that ended in a political agreement between feuding factions and the election of the army commander Michel Suleiman as head of state.

…clashes ENDED in politcal agreement?  Are you sure it ended?  You know, suicide bombs…  Soldier dead…  No Jews around to be blamed…

I don’t know.  I’m just sayin…

NOT just a scarf…

Publié dans dhimmitude le May 30th, 2008

Found this on LGF and indeed, what’s surprising is that it comes from the Toronto Star

The controversial kaffiyeh, also known as the hatta or the shemagh, is a cloth about 54 inches squared. Commonly seen on the heads of men in the Middle East, the kaffiyeh was historically used simply as protection from the scorching sun. Now, the checked scarves carry a much deeper meaning.

“The kaffiyeh is a visual extension of our struggle, a way to be a thorn in the silence,” says Ahmad Habib, Iraqi refugee and a member of the Arab Cultural Resistance music group. “Everywhere, from the Arab world to Toronto, people dress up to paint the world with conformity and indifference. The kaffiyeh stands in the way of that.”

I was on the Plateau Mont Royal this week, and while I was having a nice meal, watching the “beautiful people” walk by, I saw two individuals wearing a kaffiyeh.

It is chic. It is totally acceptable to those who see speak no evil, hear no evil and see no evil.

And all these people vote.

Meaningless symbols?

Publié dans dhimmitude le May 29th, 2008

Anyone remember this? Charles Johnson followed that scarf being sold online until it was pulled. No symbol here, right? EURO scarf? Pah-lease.

Well to anyone who doesn’t have a clue, the Kaffeyeh does mean something. It shows support for the palestinien cause. It does. Don’t say it doesn’t, we know it does.

Now Dunkin Donuts ran an ad campaign in the US with a woman wearing a kaffiyeh. They noticed the complaints and said it was chosen for style by the fashion designer for that ad.

You have Charles Johnson, who mentioned Dunkin Donuts, getting hate mail.

You have Michelle Malkin shining a light on the “meaningless symbol” (it’s not meaningless).

Actually, here are two of Michelle’s readers quoted on her site which mirror my thoughts exactly:

Update: Reader Erik e-mails, “Hey, I know, we could all walk around wearing T-Shirts with the Crusaders Cross on them and pretend we didn’t know what it means.”

…and…

Update: Reader Stu e-mails, “What you talk about here is not so different from the wearing of ‘Che Guevara’ T-shirts by people who have no clue (or choose to ignore, or even to embrace for the sake of “radical chic”) what a murdering thug Guevara was.” Very much so.

Well said. Wasn’t that well said?

Maxime Bernier’s decoration…

Publié dans politics le May 27th, 2008

Every time we noticed Bernier’s mistakes, she wasn’t around? What other SNAFU’s did we miss BECAUSE she was around, huh?

Oh, and I just noticed that we can see Maxime right there in the bottom photo. Bonus. I totally missed that.

Polygamy in Ontario

Publié dans commentary le May 27th, 2008

I just saw this on Little Green Footballs, a Toronto Star article which mentions a woman living in the GTA (greater Toronto area) who discovered that her husband has married another woman.

“This is in our religion and nobody can force us to do anything against our religion,” he said. “If the laws of the country conflict with Islamic law, if one goes against the other, then I am going to follow Islamic law, simple as that.”

Those who condone the practice rarely let their views be known, and those who practise it themselves tend to do so in secret, making it difficult to record how many such marriages have taken place in the GTA. Equally hard to determine is how many polygamous families have immigrated to the country, despite a 2005 report commissioned by the federal Status of Women that tried to find out the extent of polygamy and its implications.

But conducting such unions in clear violation of Canadian law is wrong, according to Syed Mumtaz Ali, president of the Canadian Society of Muslims, who speaks frequently on polygamy issues.

“Muslims should not enter into polygamy while they are living in Canada, because the local Canadian law prevails. It overrules the Islamic law if there is a conflict between the two,” he said.

In a country who counts on immigration to survive, we’d think that a man having many wives and many more children would be a good thing.  Then again, the women and children don’t live “the good life”.

And consider this while you’re at it:  All the sons of this muslim polygamist will know for a fact that their Dad ignored Canadian law and got away with it.

Oh, dhimmi Canada, right?

Maxime Bernier quits.

Publié dans politics le May 27th, 2008

The National Post mentions the “highlights” of his very brief political career.

April 14: On a visit to Afghanistan, Mr. Bernier says Kandahar provincial Governor Asadullah Khalid should be replaced to curb corruption. He later retracts the statement.

May 2-3: A cyclone strikes Burma and Canada pledges $2-million. Mr. Bernier is criticized by opposition leaders who say the figure is too low.

May 7: It is revealed that Mr. Bernier’s former girlfriend, Ms. Couillard, was once married to a Quebec biker gang member. She was also romantically linked to a biker who was later murdered.

May 8: Prime Minister Stephen Harper dismisses opposition leaders as “busybodies.” Says Mr. Bernier’s private life is his own.

May 21: Mr. Bernier promises an aid agency that Canada would provide a C-17 cargo plane to help airlift World Food Program helicopters to Burma. Military did not have one available, so a Russian aircraft was rented.

May 26: Mr. Bernier resigns from Cabinet.

That was the short version.

Here’s the drama-filled version, brought to you by the Toronto Star (who else?)…

She also said that on May 9, she went out for dinner with a friend and returned home to find that her home alarm was deactivated. Couillard then hired a security expert who discovered evidence there had been a hidden microphone in the boxspring of her bed.

“I couldn’t shake the feeling I was being followed and spied on,” she said. “It’s so unreal I feel like I was in an episode of the Twilight Zone.”

…so when she found an envellope in her Laval appartment in April adressed to Bernier, she did what we all would have done:  She got herself a lawyer.  And…

Couillard contacted the Star on May 15, offering to sit for an exclusive interview, and requested a $50,000 payment. The offer was declined. A spokesperson for TVA insisted that “no payment of any kind” was made to Couillard.

Wow.   I’m in love.

“I want a girl with a short skirt and a looooooooong jacket.”

Bouchard Taylor SNAFU…

Publié dans politics le May 23rd, 2008

We do not believe the crucifix in the National Assembly, and the prayers that precede municipal council meetings,” they write, “have their place in a secular state.”

Hey, guys, you were expected to finds problems and suggest solutions.

You were NOT supposed to see the french majority as a bully. We’re not bullies. We’re distinct.

(…) the authors deplore “the recent increase in anti-Semitic incidents in Quebec”; declare it “is in Quebec society’s interests to get to know the Jewish community better”; and recommend that “awareness initiatives should be implemented to overcome anti-Semitism.”

Hey, they found something that makes sense. Nice of them to notice.

The good news? The Bouchard-Taylor commission spent only $3.7-million of its $5.1-million budget. It came in more than 25% under budget.

How is this good news? Quebec taxpayers paid 3.7 million dollars for that piece of feyu report, and for what? So we can learn everything we can do to erase our history and ensure that new immigrants find nothing to integrate to when they get here?

Having a culture is not a bad thing. Imposing our peace-loving culture, which is imbued with charity, on immigrants is not racism. It’s called “feeding a Good Thing”.

It seems that the Bouchard-Taylor commission failed to miss the point (you know, that’s like one more than just missing the point… ).

Corey Glass has to go…

Publié dans law and order le May 21st, 2008

I could have sworn that I mentioned Corey Glass on this blog in the past. But a quick search tells me I did not.

Oh well. American-born Corey Glass is a moron. He deserted when his National Guard unit was deployed to Iraq, and unlucky for him, Jimmy Carter isn’t around to give him a Presidential pardon when he reenters the US of A.

No matter what he does next, it won’t be here in Canada, that’s for sure.

TORONTO - Corey Glass, a former U.S. National Guardsman who deserted to Canada in 2006 to avoid serving in Iraq, was told Wednesday that his application to stay in Canada has been rejected.

A spokesperson for Citizenship and Immigration Canada confirmed Glass has been ordered to leave the country.

At a Toronto news conference, Glass pleaded with the federal government to support his cause.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Time’s awaisting’… Start packing. Chop chop!
