For months, Israel worked fervently to prevent what happened on the podium Monday. For the duration of his speech, Ahmadinejad produced a televised illusion: It is not Iran versus the world, but Iran versus Israel.
If he manages to convince enough people of this, the mirage could become reality and Israel would be isolated, and that is exactly what Ahmadinejad is trying to accomplish.

Apparament, Ahmadinajad a trouvé son introduction insultante, mais dans la rue, les protestataires savent très bien que son message a passé. Il veux blâmer Israel et tout le monde entier va l’entendre.
Ceci dit, le Président Bush a dit que le fait que Ahmadinajad se présente à l’Université Columbia prouve totallement la grandeur des États Unis. Il a dit à Fox News que “puisque Bollinger considère que ça a une valeur éducative, c’est suffisant pour moi.”
President Bush said Ahmadinejad’s appearance at Columbia “speaks volumes about, really, the greatness of America.”
He told Fox News Channel that if Bollinger considered Ahmadinejad’s visit an educational experience for Columbia students, “I guess it’s OK with me.”
